Attorney at Law Magazine: Ethan Wall Launches Social Media Law and Order

    Ethan Wall, a social media law professor, author, and attorney, has launched Social Media Law and Order, an education company created to deliver presentations, seminars, webinars, and educational resources on all subjects relating to social media and the law. The company educates individuals, companies, and organizations about social media-related legal issues affecting the legal and business communities.

    Prior to founding Social Media Law and Order, Wall practiced social media, Internet, and intellectual property law at Richman Greer, P.A. where he quickly became widely recognized as an authority on the effect of social media on the law. Wall authored three books on the effect of social media on the law, including Fire over Facebook: A Primer on Protected Social Media Activity in the Workplace and Best Practice Guide for Managing Employee Social Media Use and the Social Media Guide for Lawyers, a legal guide on how lawyers can practically, ethically and effectively use social media in their practice. Wall also writes the Social Media Law and Order blog about the effect of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media on the law. He has served as an authority source on this topic for several high- profile news organizations including CNN, NPR and Thomson Reuters. Wall has delivered more than 50 seminars and workshops at national and international legal, business, and industry symposiums and has published dozens of scholarly articles on social media legal issues. Wall also developed a law school course titled Social Media and the Law which he teaches at Nova Southeastern University. He has also lectured at the University of Miami and Florida International University.

    Chambers and Partners, the international legal guide that recognizes the World’s Leading Lawyers, ranked Wall as an “Associate to Watch” in 2012 and 2013. Florida Trend Magazine named Wall a “Legal Elite” in 2014. Wall has also been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine and as a “Top Up and Comer” by Florida Trend’s Legal Elite since 2010. In addition, he was also named the 2013 IT Law Rising Star of Year in Florida by Corporate INTL Magazine in London, which recognizes global leading advisers and financers in many countries, and by Global Law Experts, which recognizes leading attorneys throughout the world. In 2014, The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors awarded Wall the Lynn Futch Most Productive Young Lawyer Award, one of the most prestigious awards given by the Young Lawyers Division. Wall was also named a 2014 Finalist for Alumni of the Year at Nova Southeastern University.

    Wall recently completed his term as President of the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA) Young Lawyers Section. The DCBA is the largest voluntary bar association in Florida – serving more than 4,500 members. As President, Wall led a talented board of 17 directors in implementing legal and community service programming designed to benefit lawyers of Miami- Dade County and to give back to the community. He is also a founding member of the Dade County Bar Association Intellectual Property Committee and the Law and Technology Committee. Wall received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, where he currently services as Vice President of the Alumni Board of Directors, and a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies with honors from the University of Central Florida. He is a member of the United States Supreme Court and The Florida Bar.
